Transportation Alternatives, New York City’s advocate for walking, bicycling and public transportation, seeks an organizer to coordinate our groundbreaking campaign to win better transit service in the five boroughs: the Rider Rebellion. The Campaign Coordinator will work with T.A. staff, the Rider Rebellion field team and coalition partners to execute the Stop the Hike campaign this fall.
The Campaign Coordinator will drive the Stop the Hike campaign through close coordination with the Rider Rebellion team: its lead organizer and field staff, and T.A. policy and communications staff. Current campaign tactics include coalition building, outreach to elected officials, decision makers and influencers, on-street and community organizing, social media, text messaging, advertising, creative events and press.
This is a job for a tenacious organizer who can work with a team and simultaneously manage multiple projects, find solutions and align them to yield the most influential results. They should share our passion for coalition building, effective communications and the power of an educated and engaged public to improve public transit and New York City.
The Campaign Coordinator will work closely with staff to craft innovative and strategic e-actions, text messages, social media and other communications campaigns.
